Between us, we have visited the Grand Canyon eight times. You’d think that we’d be a little immune to the grandeur of the Canyon. But no, it simply draws you in and compels you to gawk at its beauty. It’s so big that the scale is not comprehendible. After all it’s a mile deep and nearly 18 miles wide at the widest point.
We’ve stood on the rim and enjoyed the layers of colors and the birds soring on it’s wind, and at the same time there is no sound. The Canyon absorbs sound…
We’ve traversed the South Rim by road and are in the process of walking the Rim Trail 3-5 miles at a time. Soon we’ll go “below the Rim” on a walk down the Bright Angel Trail.
