The Netherlands was next on our list of places to visit. We have dear friends there, Dick & Tita, who invited us to stay with them.

They held a little gathering in their carport the evening we arrived, to introduce us to some of their local geocaching friends. Towards the end of the evening, as people were beginning to leave, someone wished us “safe travels and please get home in time to vote”. Everyone joined in with the same sentiment.

One of the things we learned while traveling in Europe on this trip is that most Europeans are terrified about our election. They see war on the horizon for their countries if aid to Ukraine is withdrawn and the US begins to back out of NATO. This is a very real possibility if the wrong person is elected president.

So, please make sure that you vote and keep in mind that there is so much more at stake this time than in the past.
