Postcard from Austria & Germany…

Our last post was over two weeks ago and a lot has happened since then, including our return home. We’ve recovered from jetlag and it’s time to tell the rest of the story.

We left you in Ljubljana with a broken RV, but that problem was quickly resolved, and we were back on the road after a day of repairs. The tour group had moved on while we were getting the RV repaired but only by 34 miles one day and 152 miles the next. So, we actually ended up ahead of the group while traveling to the next RV park along the tour and met them that night.

The next stops were in Austria and Germany as we headed back toward Frankfurt to return our RV. The weather was changing along with the leaves as signs of fall became apparent.

A chapel in the working salt mines – Salzwelten Altaussee – where the Nazis tried to hide the artworks they had looted throughout Europe. This mine was featured in the 2014 movie “The Monuments Men”.
A former concert venue in the salt mine
Kloster Andechs, a Benedictine priory, famous for its beer

A full-size Boeing 747, open to the public in the outside display area
