Postcard from Belgrade…

Belgrade, Serbia, is a city steeped in history and culture. As the capital of Serbia, it’s a melting pot of influences from Roman, Ottoman, and Austro-Hungarian empires.

Josip Broz Tito was the charismatic leader/dictator of Yugoslavia from 1945 to 1980. He played a key role in the country’s liberation from Nazi occupation and its subsequent development as a non-aligned nation. Tito’s policies, while often seen as progressive, also involved significant repression of dissent and political opponents. Tito’s impacts can be seen throughout the city.

About rkcaton

We like to travel and even spent nine years roaming around North America in a 40 foot motorhome. We're now back in a home in Washington state roaming by car, air, and boat.
